Yellow fever is a potentially fatal viral disease spread by daytime-biting mosquitoes in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and South America. While most infections are mild or asymptomatic, severe cases cause high fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), and internal bleeding, which can lead to organ failure and death.
